Faster and More User-Friendly
SIIMS essentially performs the same issue and action tracking functions as ATS, but has been designed to be faster and more user-friendly, which should be a welcome improvement for those who use ATS on a regular basis.
Transitioning to SIIMS
Starting at noon on Sept. 15, all new issues and actions must be entered in SIIMS. After this time, ATS will no longer accept new issues or actions, but previously entered items can continue to be managed in ATS. Previously entered items in ATS will eventually be transferred to SIIMS in the first quarter of FY18. SIIMS will then become the single tool used to track all issues and actions at SLAC.
New MWA System
Management Walkarounds (MWA) were previously entered using ATS, but after Sept. 15, new MWAs will be entered through a standalone MWA system. This system will retain the nearly 4,000 MWAs that have been entered by SLAC managers and supervisors since the start of FY13.
